This wine represents the essence of our organically farmed vineyards with grapes sourced from every block, consisting of multiple orientations, all of which are on rich clay soils and includes the nine different selections we have planted. It is blended as an approachable, generous wine and intended to over-deliver for its price. At the same time though it retains the seriousness of its underlying terroir with great elegance, depth and character. The 2018 vintage follows in a string of several high quality vintages going back to 2015. Lower yields created by small clusters produced very concentrated and flavorful fruit. 2018 reminds us of the elegance seen in 2016 combined with the richness and depth of 2017. This wine will easily age for 5+ years and will continue to evolve and take on greater complexity as it ages. 100% native yeast. 20% whole-cluster fermented in concrete. Aged 14 months in 25% French oak. 544 cases. 13.1% alcohol. This is a beautiful, refined vintage of our Estate Pinot Noir. Rich aromas of dried cherries, earth, baking spices, sandalwood and hibiscus meld on the palate with notes of black currant, elderberry, raspberry, vanilla, chocolate, and shiso. This medium-bodied wine has great acidity and tannins, and the balance of fruit, floral, and woody notes are complimented by a smooth mouth-feel and lingering finish. Drink now - 2030.
